Neve Taylor

GIS Officer
Neve completed a Bachelor of Environmental Science, majoring in Ecology and Conservation, at Charles Sturt University. During her studies, she developed a strong interest in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Geospatial Science – skills she has continued to refine and apply in her work at Boobook.

Before moving to Roma, Neve began a Bachelor of Commerce in Canberra, where she discovered a passion for statistics and data analysis. Ultimately, however, her commitment to the environment led her back to the ecological sciences, where she now combines analytical thinking with field-based conservation work.

Outside of work, Neve enjoys caring for her horses, reading, and collecting arthropods – a hobby that reflects her lifelong curiosity about the natural world.
Favourite species and why
“My long-term favourite species is Mimosa pudica. I love its delicate green leaves that fold away when touched – such an engaging and responsive plant. It fascinated me as a child growing up in Borneo, and it still captures my attention today.”

Neve's main areas of expertise

  • GIS mapping
  • Data analysis
  • Technical assistance for field operations
  • Environmental conservation.
