Courtney Andrew

Field Technician
Courtney is our weed removal extraordinaire.

She has a Bachelor of Environmental Science (Honours) in Natural Resources from The University of Queensland and has worked as a bush regenerator in and around Brisbane, conducting weed removal and working on the restoration of natural areas.

Courtney’s major interest and knowledge is in environmental weeds and native plant identification. Her honours thesis investigated the effects of a seed coat on germination of native grass species used for mining rehabilitation.
Favourite species and why
“Smooth-barked apple (Angophora leiocarpa) as I love when they shed their bark in summer and their trunks are a bright orange, especially after rain as it looks amazing in the landscape!”

Courtney's main areas of expertise

Courtney assists the Boobook team with:

  • Flora and fauna surveys
  • General ecological assessments including BioCondition
  • Field collection and preservation of plant specimens
  • Data recording and field survey preparations.
