Angus Warren

Senior GIS Analyst
Angus is our resident GIS and data specialist.

I’ve spent most of my life as a wanderer, leveraging my broad technical skill set to find work in countries across Asia, including Japan, Vietnam, and India, as well as in Europe, in the UK, Italy, and Spain. I specialize in 2D and 3D technical design, mapping, and data analysis, which has enabled me to contribute to significant projects in various industries such as architecture, urban design and planning, and fibre network design. Throughout these diverse fields, I have developed extensive experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), which I am now applying to the field of ecology with Boobook.

In my spare time, I am deeply committed to my work as an artist, immersing myself in painting, drawing, and sculpting. In 2019 and 2020, collections of my paintings were exhibited at the International Outsider Art Exhibition in New York.
Favourite species and why
“While I don’t have a single favourite species, I’ve always been fascinated by birds, especially tropical ones like the Birds of Paradise in New Guinea and the majestic parrots of the Amazon. My love for crabs also stems from childhood memories of spending hours catching the tiny ones in the mangroves along the Noosa River. Additionally, I have a great fondness for monkeys and often wished we had them in Australia.”

Angus's main areas of expertise
