Property maps of assessible vegetation (PMAVs)
Property Maps of Assessible Vegetation (PMAVs)
We can give you certainty around what you can and can’t do on your land.
Did you know that incorrect vegetation mapping on your property might be restricting your land use?
Government-produced vegetation maps (Property Maps of Assessable Vegetation, or PMAVs) are often produced from satellite imagery, without ground-truthing to ensure vegetation communities have been mapped correctly.
As the property owner, it is up to you to inform the government if you believe your PMAV is incorrect.

How can you ensure your PMAV is correct?
At Boobook Ecological Consulting, our expert ecologists can review your existing PMAVs and validate or correct these through conducting a field inspection of your property.
With our in-depth knowledge of the regional ecosystems of the Brigalow Belt and Mulga Lands, we can accurately and efficiently collect the information you need to ensure your vegetation has been mapped correctly for your land use purposes.
Should you need a correction to your PMAVs, our team can provide advice on a course of action and collect the data needed to support your application. This may happen if:
- You want to change the identity of a patch of vegetation from one regional ecosystem to another
- Remnant vegetation has been assessed as non-remnant
