Education, participation and support
We believe the best environmental outcomes are built on education, understanding and maintaining a holistic perspective.
Our interest in the entire biosphere of the region has led us to develop Boobook Ecotours, which take visitors deep into the wilderness of our scenic area as well as giving an appreciation of the local industry and its interaction with the environment.
This tourism activity supports economic activity in Roma and beyond, and is carefully managed to avoid negative environmental impacts.
We are also working closely with local residents to develop the Roma region as a hub for environmental education. Our plan is to attract both environmental professionals and the public to come here to appreciate the amazing natural ecosystems and better understand how they interact with human activity.
Other local support
As an active local business, we are involved with local activities in many ways. From snake-catching to native animal relocation, our ecologists are in demand for their knowledge of local fauna and flora.
Our specimen collections are accessible to researchers and our extensive image library can supply photos to promote the local environment.
We also support our local community with cash and in-kind donations to a range of community events and non-profit groups, like the Maranoa Wildlife Caring and Education Centre, Roma Eisteddfod, Roma Junior Touch Football Association and local schools.
